Southwestern Company Truth Getting the truth out

Alumnus Shocked to Find Same Tactics

I did Southwestern back in 1984. I was thinking about my experience the other day and Googled them to see if they were still in business. I’m SHOCKED to find the SAME business approach being used and reading about the same kinds of experiences that I had!!!

Heck, I was “successful” and managed to survive the summer without too many traumatic incidents, even won the “free” trip to Cancun (barely). One of my friends flipped a car; another had a gun held to him. Believe me I can readily identify with your experience: Sales School, Mr. Mediocrity, the daily group breakfast, avoiding the brainwashed roommates, good ole’ Mort, “I feel healthy, happy, terrific”, “I’m not saying we’re a Christian organization, but…”, mooching lunches/PB&J, “boy if only I was as good of a person as that guy that sold all of those books” and of course, the almighty SCHEDULE!

Brings back memories. The trauma on you psyche does fade over time… that was one rough summer.

Thanks for sharing.  Kids ought to know what they are getting into.
