Parent Shocked by Southwestern
Kristen,
Thank you for the information on Southwestern. My daughter is a freshman this year at the University of South Alabama and was recruited to intern this summer with Southwestern. I was contacted by a company representative and after a long interview I felt the company was the place for my daughter to work this year. My daughter called late last week asking me if I had ever seen or heard anything negative about Southwestern. She had read something on Facebook and was a little concerned. I did a quick internet search and found all of the negative information that I needed to help her make the decision not to work for them. I was shocked by the stories that some of the other students told and embarrassed that I had not looked into this company before now. I did think that something was not right with the idea of sending students so far away from home to sell books. I was uneasy about the idea of my daughter who is from Alabama going to the northeast to sell. I’m glad that she will be home this summer. I told her not to worry, that she will be able to work around here and she will get paid for the work she does and she will have a safe place to live and food to eat and everything will be just fine. Thank you again.
May God bless you.
