Deception
Southwestern company deceives you to believe you are not going to have the worst summer ever! They tell you it’s going to be hard and if you don’t follow up with schedule you aren’t going to make your goal. In my experience my manager was honest for the most part but they left out how much money you must invest into this "Experience" (from hell). They tell you that rent will be at the most $50 (in my case it was) but they don’t tell you about the 10-20 fees you have to pay for Sunday meetings, and the hotels for all their seminars and sales week. Oh, and Sunday meetings are all day. They tell you that the team will meet up for a couple of hours and then you’re free to do whatever you want. LIES! They plan out your whole Sunday and leave only enough time to go home and make dinner and shower. You’re lucky if your HQ (host home) is in the city everyone meets in. If not, you may end up having to drive up to two hours. They won’t room you with people you like because building a relationship is not what they want. They don’t want you talking to someone you like about why you hate what you do so much (because you will end up leaving together). I can go on forever about why Southwestern is Full Of It! They don’t care how many people they drag down with them because at the end of the day, weather you sold one or thirteen books they still made 60% off you and you are the one doing all the work! All they really spend on you is "$500" (which is what the book bag with all the sample books costs) but to them it is an investment because after fifteen long weeks of working they make their money back and everything else is profit.
